A group of friends gather for a pre-wedding party that descends into an existential nightmare when an estranged friend arrives with a mysterious game that awakens long-hidden secrets, desires, and hurts. I really wanted to like this. It started well enough; I even liked the mechanic they used (which I won't spoil here). Like someone said, it looked like it was going to be pretty interesting pretty soon. Instead, it turned bad pretty quickly.

But everyone else?

The thing is, all these friends meet at this house for a fun night, okay, but we don't really know them. And completely unaware of them, we are not really invested in what ends. Of course, one of the couples is introduced early on, just through a very specific lens. We are given advice and nothing more.

I gave 35 minutes

They are painted quite flat and broad, and we as an audience are not given enough care beyond the surface. It's like we agreed to go on a roller coaster ride with them, but before we can even say hello and exchange pleasantries, we're strapped in and pushed out for the next few hours. And driving is a lot less fun than it sounds. I'm a pretty avid watcher of all kinds of horror (I even thought Bodies Bodies Bodies was fun) - but this one just didn't work for me..
