In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minks finally made it big. But while a mysterious killer pursues a Hollywood starlet, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past. Hollywood star Maxine puts out a cigarette where Teddy Barra's actress Pearl was inspired to name her alligator in Pearl (2022). The Bette Davis quote shown at the beginning of the film is misquoted. In fact, it is "Until you are known as a monster in my profession, you are not a star." Maxine Minx: Do you know what happened to the last person who asked to kill me?

This is definitely the weakest of the three
I'm a little sorry that I wasn't happy about it. I watched it with the whole family, and we all agreed. It's just not an exciting story, what exactly is the meaning? The development of the characters is also extremely superficial, I did not root for anyone in particular. Now I love the tribute to horror movies, I loved the chases on the set, it reminded me of Scream 3.
Visually, it is also beautiful
I also liked watching "Bates Motel" and "House of the Psychopath". It looks like it was shot on real film. It is grainy, lively, colorful, has many contrasts, and the cinematography is excellent. I just love it when a movie looks like a movie and not like an Amazon ad. The tone was also messy, it's a little thriller, a little drama and a little horror.

Unfortunately, the story just didn't work, it wasn't the big epic finale I was expecting. A24 has produced some of the most memorable horror films of the 21st century.
